What is Global Biotech Week?

BIOTECanada, Canada’s biotechnology industry association introduced the first National Biotechnology Week in 2003, encouraging provincial industry associations to create industry and outreach events. The goal was simple: to increase awareness of biotechnology and to celebrate science.

The City of Regina and the City of Saskatoon and the Province of Saskatchewan have each proclaimed the week of September 27 to October 3 as Global Biotech Week!

 Real events, online and in-person!

 Saskatchewan’s Global Biotech Week 2021 committee will be paying close attention to updates on COVID-19 and are committed to planning safe events . The organizing committee has come up with some awesome activities. Stay tuned for more details.

Felix is a helix (a double helix, to be precise!) and he's our GBW-Sask mascot. He can be a wily guy – tough to find!
